Job Description

The Nursing Assistant provides essential support to nursing staff by assisting patients with daily living activities, ensuring their comfort and well-being, and performing basic medical procedures under the supervision of a licensed nurse or physician. 

They also communicate effectively with patients, healthcare teams and families. Document patient care and assist with patient admission and discharge procedures as directed.

Soft Skills

  • Empathy: Nurse Assistants must be understanding of the feelings of patients, showing compassion and sensitivity to their needs and emotions.

  • Attention to Detail: Nurse Assistants have to observe and note subtle changes in a patient’s condition and ensure accuracy in tasks like recording vital signs or administering medication.

Technical and Academic Skills

  • High School Diploma or equivalent 

  • Completion of a certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) program or equivalent training

  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology and procedures

  • Ability to handle physical demands, including lifting and transferring patients with proper body mechanics
